Phillip Wood MBE is the Head of the School of Management and Professional Studies at Buckinghamshire New University in the UK. With a background that includes military service in various roles; the delivery and management of corporate resilience programmes to industry, and his current academic management role, he is committed to the continued development of resilience in organisations and society, against a challenging and dynamic risk and threat background.
He has had his work published in journals, industry publications and the media; and his book ‘Resilient Thinking: Protecting Organisations in the 21st Century’ which was published in 2012, addresses the issues related to human behaviours and their effects on effective resilience planning and response.
A strong believer in blending academic theory with the practical applicability of resilience activities and functions, he is currently working on a range of initiatives that are designed to support businesses and organisations in developing effective resilience against the dynamics of global activity and change.
